They Overcame Him

Revelation 12:10-12 (New International Version)
10Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
"Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God,
and the authority of his Christ.
For the accuser of our brothers,
who accuses them before our God day and night,
has been hurled down.
11They overcame him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death.
12Therefore rejoice, you heavens
and you who dwell in them!
But woe to the earth and the sea,
because the devil has gone down to you!
He is filled with fury,
because he knows that his time is short."

MESSAGE: 11They defeated him through the blood of the Lamb and the bold word of their witness.

AMPLIFIED:
11And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony,

What does it take to defeat your adversary? Jesus AND a testimony.

Testimony: evidence that is obtained from a witness who makes a statement or declaration of fact. Testimony may be oral or written.

Witness: one who has first-hand knowledge (one who has personally experienced)

It is not enough to just BELIEVE in JESUS (or know Jesus through someone else’s experiences) – you have to be a witness – have first hand knowledge, to have PERSONALLY experienced his goodness, grace, mercy, and love. If you haven’t experienced it for yourself, how can you be a witness? You only know what others have told you.

When you become a witness, when you know Jesus for yourself, when you have experienced Him, when you have seen for yourself His good work, only then you can testify about Jesus and DEFEAT YOUR ADVERSARY.

CASE CLOSED.
